PEO-Medicine:People-Excitement-Obedience Medicine Model
P-People, people rather than animals; E-Excitement, exciting mother natural healing power and spontaneous healing; andO-Obedience, be obedient to the aging process.
PEO-Medicine is based on the living soft matter theory, which focuses on multi-level complex fluid and its management. PEO-Medicine pays more attention to the coupling mechanism of “structure-behavior-function” effects, rather than the “structure-function” relationship in a biomedical model, with an emphasis on the excitement of human being spontaneous healing abilities, as well as obedience to the nature healing process and the aging process to overcome the dogma and limitation of the biomedical model.
Biomechanopharmacology
The new concept of “biomechanopharmacology” was introduced into the field of pharmacology at the 4th International Conference on Clinical Hemorheology, which was held in 2002. “Biomechanopharmacology” not only focuses on equivalent pharmacologic effects of biomechanical factors, but also emphasizes the actions of drug by changing biomechanical events. Specifically, the biomechanical microenvironment for drug screening is of particular concern in our research. Prof. Tu Youyou pointed out “ biomechnopharmacology is other gift from Chinese medicine besides artemisinin and arsenic.” (Nature Medicine, 2011)
Hand-leading Medicine
Hand-leading Medicine, a representative non-drug therapy in PEO-Medicine model, comes from hand-mediated clinical activities with a focus on complex fluid management to prevent and treat diseases, which adopted the essence of Kung-fu Massage. Kung-fu Massage, which originates from massage skills of traditional Chinese medicine, takes harmonious-integrity principles as the mainlines, emphasizes the kung fu training, contains the characters of “an iron fist in a velvet glove,” “replacement of the acupuncture needles with a finger,” “weak force persistence,“ “five exits of sick mass routes leaving the body,“ “self-giving for the people,“ “double super plus to performer and patient,” and “Qi and blood circulating to self-healing” as the core concepts, thus realizing the management of life complex fluids and enlightening the rise of the hand-leading medicine.
